This summer, the Lord blessed the Cherkasy team to do a missions trip to Georgia. In Georgia the dominant religion is Christian Orthodoxy, and the Orthodox Church is very oppressive towards evangelical Christians. So, it is very difficult for evangelicals to freely share their faith in our Savior Jesus.
On this journey, we told our Georgian brothers and sisters about our ministry in Cherkasy and the experience of IP teams in Ukraine. We told them about the evangelization project “Photoschool+Bible” and how through photography, one can preach the Gospel to non-believers.
Also, we told them about musical ministry in our city. One of the methods of evangelism is “Guitar+Bible”. Volodya (one of the people who was in the mission) serves in our local church by playing the saxophone. The pastor of this church said ” You are the first saxophonist, who played in our church and you will always be the first”.
Sasha also gave a couple seminars about how to find a partner for marriage and how to share the Gospel.
Georgia has a lot of mountains. The Caucasus Mountains are among the most popular mountain destinations in the world. We went hiking with Georgians, teaching them how to properly set up tents, how much food to take, what equipment to take, how to plan the time and what topics work well, and generally how to reachnon-believers through hiking, backpacking and camping.
This mission trip was a wonderful opportunity to serve!
