It was an amazing evening with our club members. The evening to remember true meaning of Christmas.
Yesterday we gathered with the youth. We had fellowship, played games and baked an apple pie. Then we studied and discussed half of the 4th chapter of Ecclesiastes. It went very well, we talked about Christ, and discussed different types of sins. I am very satisfied with how yesterday went, especially since we got to eat delicious apple pie and got to be together until almost 11 pm.
Youth movement “Next”. Tonight we are talking about LOVE.
Yesterday was special day for our church.
Two young girls, Luda and Vika, were baptized. Girls were preparing for this day for almost a year, gathering with older brothers and discussing important Bible truths and doctrines.
We are happy for the sisters, especially Lyuda, whom we met on the project “English with Americans” 9 years ago. During this time, lots of things has happened in her life: doubts, disbelief, misunderstanding, fears that prevented her from trusting God. But God is faithful, He did not leave her and helped Luda make the right decision – to dedicate her life to Christ!
Mary, Ken and Judy, Den and Naomi, you were the Americans who were conducting that project. Now, reading these lines, you can see the result of your work. Thank you so much!
Last week we have started English and Bible study course for next 3 months. First week was very intensive, we had classes every day with our friends from States. We had great English lessons and interesting Bible discussions. At Friday with our American team we had American party. We played games, and Dan shared interesting thoughts how Reformation, faith in Christ transformed and changed United States. Students had many questions, one our student tried to be an interpreter. It was joyful and useful time for all of us.
We’ve had a wonderful English week in Kharkiv with a great team of teachers. English became a great occasion to make new friendships. About 40 people took part in the project, and we learned, played, performed during the American Culture Night and had a lot of fun together. Thanks to the hospitality of school # 11 and Svit Protsenko, our classes went in a cozy atmosphere. We talked about success in the light of Biblical values during our discussion time. We also raised the difficult questions of the purpose of life, talents and gifts, successful relationships and the reasons of failures. We gave the participants bracelets with the “formula of success”. The last night was a lot of fun in a warm, family-like circle. We ate American style crackers and drank soda. Each group prepared a performance. We had singing and dancing, live music and a cappella singing. We didn’t feel like going home after the party. Looking forward to the follow-up next week!
3 days in the Carpathians on the Sinevir lake.
72 hours of training and personal communication.
4320 minutes filled with joy and fun.
25 people who chose not to stop!
This is the retreat with the American team and the English club Odessa. We raised important topics about calling in professional, personal and spiritual life. Every day the American team led us into discussions and conversations.
Now we can see how effective this format was, because all three days the Americans were able to fully devote time to the guys. This trip gave us the opportunity for more open personal conversations, that was our goal. This year we received many good reports about our retreat. The Americans and club members shared their good impressions.
We have prayed and prepared a lot for this trip and now we can see how the Lord has blessed us in everything: it was the amazing place, the good weather, people were open and ready to grow.
Thanks for your support.
We have a team of Americans in Kharkiv with us right know helping us start the English+Bible season for the year!
Today is the last day of our big adventure and unforgettable trip! A lot of fun, pictures and new friends and relationships!
